Résumé

1969, small town girl Faith leaves behind her family and friends, and heads to the city. She takes a job at a nightclub called the Angel, a place where the wealthy mingle with shady characters. Her heart is torn between the singer in a band playing at the nightclub, and Joe, the boy back home. A death firms Faith's resolve to help bring the Angel's criminals to justice. Meanwhile, her sister Hope falls in love with a boy about to leave for Vietnam, not realising her life is about to become dangerously entangled with Faith's.2000, Faith's daughter Sam has made a life for herself in the little town of Golden Gully.
The most exciting thing that has happened recently is a pop star she used to have a crush on moving nextdoor. But now her mother has disappeared, and her aunt Hope, a famous actor, has arrived home from New York. Hope is making a documentary about her past and the revelations from the show cause problems within Sam's family. She's beginning to think there are secrets she knows nothing about. Just what is it they're afraid of?
