Many have relied upon the statements of the Apostle Paul in 1 Timothy 2:12 (KJV) which states, "But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence." The reliance upon this statement continues the minimalization of women in our patriarchal society. What is best for the Kingdom of God? What are the actions and words of Jesus Christ? When the Holy Spirit speaks in your heart, what do you hear? Priscilla ministered to the Apostle Paul.
Phoebe bought his letters out of the jail where he was imprisoned. Junia is considered the first female deacon. She was active in the church alongside the Apostle Paul. However, it is his "words" that has limited the role of women, yet the Apostle Paul loved and respected the women of the church.
