This book is the result of a rare and meaningful collaboration between Farid Khattab, the Artist, and Nagat Hassan, the Art Reader and Writer. What began as a silent dialogue between color and intuition evolved into a shared journey of discovery. While Farid's abstract works were born from intention, subconscious guidance, and decades of devotion to energy and artistic expression, Nagat perceived within them dimensions that extended beyond the visible-stories, symbols, and emotional landscapes that many might overlook at first glance.
From this meeting of vision and interpretation, Volume I of a continuing series was born. This first volume presents readings of thirty abstract paintings. Each piece carries its own distinct theme, its own emotional climate, its own philosophical undercurrent. Yet abstract art is never confined to a single truth. As you turn these pages, remember: Every painting can speak in more than one voice. You may discover meanings we have not named.
You may see stories we did not write. And should you rotate a painting-90, 180, or 270 degrees clockwise-you may find that an entirely new narrative unfolds before you. With every shift in perspective, a different story emerges. This book is not merely to be read-it is to be experienced. We invite you to explore both the artworks and the stories that arose from them. And before we begin this journey together, we would like you to know more about the two voices behind this collaboration in the following sections.
