Résumé

Where the Riot Began is a tense, emotional Jewish romantic suspense novella about two strangers forced together on the most terrifying day of their lives. Talia Weiss only wanted to escape her downtown law office for a quiet lunch. Ezra Cohen only wanted a few minutes away from a tense client meeting. Neither expected to walk into the same small Jewish restaurant moments before the street outside erupted into violence.
When antisemitic rioters surround the restaurant and shatter the front window, Talia and Ezra are pushed into a desperate escape through back alleys, office buildings, stairwells, service corridors, and smoke-filled streets. They do not know each other. They have no reason to trust each other. But with every locked door, every dangerous crossing, and every breathless moment of survival, fear begins to turn into something deeper.
Ezra is calm because he has to be. Talia is brave because she refuses to disappear. Together, they move toward the one place that might get them out alive: Ezra's car in a nearby parking garage. But by the time they reach it, the danger outside is not the only thing that has changed. In a wounded city filled with sirens, smoke, and broken glass, two people who met by chance discover that survival can become trust, and trust can become the beginning of love.
