Résumé

This story is part of Reading Champion, a series carefully linked to book bands to encourage independent reading skills, developed with Dr Sue Bodman and Glen Franklin of UCL Institute of Education (IOE)In When the Wind Blows, the clothes are pegged out to dry on the washing line. Then the wind blows too much and the clothes start to blow away!Reading Champion offers independent reading books for children to practise and reinforce their developing reading skills.
Fantastic, original stories are accompanied by engaging artwork and a reading activity. Each book has been carefully graded so that it can be matched to a child's reading ability, encouraging reading for pleasure. Perfect for 4-5 year olds or those reading book band pink 1B.
Sheryl lives in Liverpool with her husband Phil and four children Sean, Bethany, Joey and new arrival Katy. Having completed a degree in English and Psychology she enjoyed working as a Primary School Teacher before going on a career break to bring up her young family. This also allowed more time for her passion of writing. Sheryl's literary influences include Enid Blyton -whose books she loved as a child and now enjoys reading to her own children.
She also admires the work of Julia Donaldson. However her greatest influences are her children - who provide the inspiration and ideas for most of her stories. Iryna Boiko is a children's book illustrator from Ukraine. Growing up in a small town, she spent her childhood immersed in drawing and dreaming up magical worlds inspired by the fantasy stories she loved. After completing university and welcoming her son into the world, Iryna returned to her art and discovered her true passion for children's illustration.
She delights in bringing sweet, expressive characters to life and weaving imaginative stories through her vibrant artwork.
