J. D. had arrived in America at the onset of disputes that were threatening to divide the country. Like the faction fighters of his birth country, they each had their own view on how things should be done. He had gotten caught up in the ways of others business for a time, sailing the waters of a trade in which he did not want to participate and then fighting in a war he did not fully understand.
