Résumé

The forgotten truth, concealed by the passing of centuries and overshadowed by the tide of events, is that Muslim scholars were the first to reach many scientific theories, cosmic insights, useful inventions, and groundbreaking contributions in the fields of the humanities and social sciences. What we now regard as unquestionable foundations of modern knowledge is often attributed to Western thinkers, and when the credit is restored to its original pioneers from the Islamic civilization, the listener is struck with astonishment and disbelief.
The approach of this study is to highlight these well-known scientific principles, to analyze them, and to trace their true origins. In reality, they were the fruits of Muslim intellects who thrived under the umbrella of Islamic civilization. These ideas and discoveries grew and flourished in that fertile environment before they were transferred to Europe during the age of translation from Arabic and Persian sources, at a time when the Islamic world was in decline and the European Renaissance was dawning.
There, European scholars studied, refined, and reformulated them-often claiming them as their own. As for the discoveries whose Islamic roots are historically beyond dispute, they will be presented here in a clear and accessible way. They form part of the very foundations of modern life, with vast benefits and countless applications. In the pages that follow, the reader will encounter vivid examples that demonstrate how the Islamic civilization played a decisive role in shaping the intellectual and scientific foundations of our modern world.
