J. M. Johnson grew up in northern British Columbia, the setting for her books. She now lives near Edmonton, Alberta with her two cats and significant other. Writing has always been part of her life, starting when she was only seven years old. However as often happens, life got in the way of her pursuing her passion. Now retired, she spends time writing and singing with her barbershop chorus.

Résumé
A continental disaster has left North America in the dark. Telephones, cars, electric lights and anything with computers, have all been disabled. With winter coming the Morrisson family must leave their suburban home to find shelter on the farm. However, their teenage daughter rebels. She can't imagine a world without food or heat, so, confident that the crisis will end soon Tara runs away with Will, the town 'bad boy.' She soon finds that Will offers not an escape, but a trap.
When her young friend, Bobby, disappears and the house they have been sheltering in burns to the ground, Tara must make a decision. Will she wait with Will and his gang, or will she flee into the B. C. wilderness?Book 2 of the 'Incident' series leads you on a wild ride through a danger filled, winter landscape.
