A cargo steamer out of New York is wrecked in the South Atlantic, and the survivors - passengers, crew, and a young man travelling under a false name because he is accused of a theft he did not commit - build a society on an uncharted island. McCutcheon invented Graustark and with it the whole American vogue for imaginary-kingdom romance; here he does the same trick without the kingdom.

A propos de George Barr McCutcheon

George Barr McCutcheon (1866-1928) was an American novelist and playwright. He began his career as a journalist in Indiana, serving as city editor for the Indianapolis News. He is known for the Graustark romances and the adventure novel West Wind Drift.
