What the hell did they want to show me in the depths of that castle? And when I say deep, I mean deep. I descended step after step, perhaps counted about five hundred huge stone stairs until I stood in a giant chamber illuminated by huge chandeliers on the sides. When my gaze settled more closely, my amazement was minuscule. There were all kinds of things that I did not know at that time, such as test tubes and thousands of objects for experimentation.
Something incredible for that time. For a moment, I thought that that part would be my workplace, but it was not. We passed through that medieval laboratory to descend again into a new chamber. There, my hairs stood on end. Terrifying screams were coming from a door at the back, and Brayton took an object that was suspended on the wall and then opened that opening that I never would have wanted him to open.
