Résumé

A young girl, unwanted, unloved, hated by society. A kind beast with a royal heart. Though orphaned and living as a homeless waif on the streets of Shalim, Scarlet has managed to survive. Barely. The Petrus despise her, if only for her soft skin and weak body. They are rarely kind, often brutal. And when Scarlet is accused of a murder she couldn't possibly have committed, there isn't a single Petrus willing to help her.
It seems the stones covering their bodies also cover the Petrus' hearts. Scarlet finds salvation through one creature's kindness--a Trolem, a beast so fearsome and terrifying, most run in terror at the mere mention of one. But the scared street waif finds the creature to be caring and generous. And discovers he is also a prince. A prince who is willing to die for her. But when Scarlet has the opportunity to return the favor and save the Trolem herself, will she find the strength within to help the cursed prince? Or will her quest be simply a fool's errand in which she finds she is the one truly cursed?Middle grade Christian fantasy for ages 8-80+
