Résumé
Award-winning creator Chad Sell's adult graphic memoir debut is a powerful exploration of the passage of time, recounting the years in which he cared for his aging grandparents. In 2006, Chad Sell is a young cartoonist trying to find his way-both in comics and in life. But when his grandparents' health begins to fade, Chad's life turns in a way he didn't expect: back to their farm, Vreeland, where he can care for them during their twilight years.
Chad's presence is met with warmth but uncertainty-his grandparents aren't convinced they need any help. But as the days pass, a fragile yet powerful bond forms between them, providing Chad a fresh new perspective in both life and in art. Through graphically charged yet tender visuals, Vreeland is a deeply profound memoir decades in the making that examines the importance of making every moment count with the ones we love-and with ourselves.
