One would think that if you grew up in a world of sparkle and creativity that the rest of your life would be the same. Right?No so. In this raw and reflective memoir by author and writer, Tiara King, she delves into experiences that have led her to the life she has now. One of toxicity, anger, sacrifice, envy, and pain amidst all of the creativities she's delved into.
The toxic nature of the people around her and the family she grew up in. The pain at not having the life she thought she was going to have, and of arguing with the Universe for giving her the life she got, dealing with the anger from that and the feelings of being sacrificed for another. The envy at not having the freedom to do what she wants when she wants and have the life she envisions in her mind, while dealing with the life she was dumped in by family and the Universe, using jewellery and writing as her escape.
These are stories about her school years, life, family, being a carer, the rise and fall of her jewellery business, her writing career, and how she came to write under three names and set up a publishing house for herself, and what her goals are for the future as she reflects on the last fifty years. Tiara's also written poems for the book and placed one between each chapter just because she could.
This is a tale of life and creativity that's striving for recognition in a world that doesn't want to give it. A life of no love, no success, and no freedom to be who you truly want to be. A life that's not so sparkling.
