Résumé
Former New York City cop Jessie Henderson now works as a private investigator. She used to be a respected beat officer who became involved in a drug shootout. She lost her partner but earned a detective's gold shield and an alcohol problem that eventually created a crisis for her. Today, Jessie Henderson is a recovering alcoholic who just received a note from the love of her life, Ruth James. Ruth's cryptic message demands Jessie to meet her in the lobby in fifteen minutes.
They haven't spoken to each other since their acrimonious breakup ten years ago. Out of curiosity, Jessie agrees to meet Ruth at a side entrance away from the prying eyes of her secretary. On the way through the alley, the women become victims of a mugging. Jessie is seriously injured and Ruth doesn't have opportunity to hire her for a special job. This event is the beginning of a nightmare for both women-will it prevent them from the closure they need with their Unfinished Business?
