Unexpected

Bakersfield California 1872, after the gold rush and prior to the railroad there was a struggle for the good people of the town to keep what they worked so hard for. Butch McAllister was determined to own everything; including the town and the people in it, but most of all, he had his eyes on the beautiful Josephine Hamilton. She was within his grasp until a stranger came riding in and changed his plans.
He would have his revenge and he would have Josephine. Josephine needed a miracle. Her family was struggling to fend off the ruthless threats by a madman to take their land. He also made his intentions clear where she was concerned. Time was running out and the townsfolk was cowering under his cruelty. Then when things couldn't get any worse, her brother was almost killed. Now she had no one to help defend their property until a stranger offered to help.
Trust was hard to come by during that time, but does she have faith that he can help, or is she risking everything by trusting him?
