Résumé
Der siebente Band des Thüringer Pfarrerbuches bietet etwa 3000 Biogramme der Pfarrer des ehemaligen Herzogtums Sachsen-Meiningen von der Reformation bis 1918. Zu Sachsen-Meiningen zählten nicht nur die Zentren Meiningen, Hildburghausen, Salzungen oder Wasungen sondern auch die Exklave Camburg. Die große Ausdehnung dieses Fürstentums kam nach der Gothaer Teilung von 1826 zu Stande. Wie bei den vorangegangenen Bänden basieren die Biogramme auf gründlichen archivalischen Studien zu den 127 sachsen-meiningischen Pfarrstellen.
Das von der Gesellschaft für Thüringische Kirchengeschichte in Verbindung mit dem Thüringer Pfarrverein herausgegebene Thüringer Pfarrerbuch leistet nicht nur einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Sozialgeschichte des Pfarrerstandes, sondern darüber auch zur Kirchengeschichte der Reformation und Neuzeit. [Thuringian Book of Pastors. Volume 7: Duchy of Saxe-Meiningen] Volume Seven of the Thuringian Book of Pastors contains about 3000 short biographies of the pastors of the former Duchy of Saxe-Meiningen from the Reformation until 1918.
Saxe-Meiningen included not only the centres Meiningen, Hildburghausen, Salzungen or Wasungen but also the exclave Camburg. The vast extension of this principality is due to the division of the Duchy of Gotha in 1826. As in the previous volumes the biographies are based on thorough archival studies of the pastorates in Saxe-Meiningen. The Thuringian Book of Pastors is edited by the Society for Thuringian Church History in connection with the Association of Thuringian Pastors.
It is an important contribution both to the social history of the profession of pastor and to the church history of the Reformation and the modern era.
