For seventy years, the Israelites were in exile, captive to the Babylonians. Now the exile is over, and the Chronicler recalls the history of Judah. With a more positive spin, the Chronicler records the stories to remind Israel of what led them to the exile. These stories serve as a reminder of the mistakes made to prevent repeating them. A reminder of God's blessings, goodness, and faithfulness. Ultimately, the final message is hope.
