Finn Spencer was leading a charmed life - great job, loving wife, a child on the way. However, Finn had one secret he never revealed to anyone. He was the son of one of the world's greatest hitmen. Ranald Booth, the Fixer, has just finished his latest assignment when his partner hands him an envelope. The next mark is Marlon Schmidt, one of the world's richest men. Ranald reluctantly accepts the job but misses the mark.
Soon after he is kidnapped by Schmidt's right-hand man and told his family would be hunted down as a result. Now Finn is on the run to New York during the worst heat wave in decades.
