Im Zentrum dieses Buches steht ein Abenteuer: Die Theater Konstanz und Nanzikambe Arts in Malawi gehen eine Partnerschaft ein. Drei Jahre und über fünfzig Flüge später steht ein Ensemble aus malawischen und deutschen Schauspielern auf der Bühne und präsentiert die Uraufführung einer gemeinsamen Stückentwicklung. Schauspieler, Regisseure und Projektleiter berichten aus ihrer Perspektive über diese Kooperation.
Darüber hinaus wird das Projekt im Rahmen eines größeren Diskurses analysiert: als Auseinandersetzung über den Stellenwert von Kunst im Nord-Süd-Dialog und in der internationalen Entwicklungszusammenarbeit.
