Résumé

Love and lost chances, innocence and scars. Enchantments and adventure. Freedom and silence. Magic spells and bloodied keys. The Wistful Wild offers a wide selection of poetry inspired by fairy tales and myths.  Through stories both familiar and obscure, readers will encounter the perspectives of oft-overlooked side characters and main characters alike. Some celebrate love, whether platonic, familial, or romantic.
Others warn of its potential dangers. At its heart, this poetry book explores the experiences of fairy tale characters who are many things: wild, wicked, and wondrous; sweet, scarred, and satisfied; forgotten, found, and forged; maiden, mother, and crone. In other words, souls of longing and ferocity. Featuring poems inspired by:The Little MermaidBeauty and the BeastWhite Bear King ValemonIron HenryThe Twelve Dancing PrincessesBluebeard.and many others

À propos des auteurs

Jess Lynn is a lover of stories, wearer of flower crowns, and still believes in magic and wonder. She writes for the girl who never grew up and for the one wondering if hope is a joke (she's been there too). She finds inspiration in the truth that every thing, every person, every happenstance and history has its own story.  She sees her work as an intersection of history, myth, and magic.  When her head's not stuck in a book or following rabbit trails of possible plot lines, she's busy building a life with her husband, mothering and home educating their four children (7 - 14), and ever so slowly renovating their 1917 farmhouse in South Carolina.
