Manuscript conservator Nora Quinn arrives at Aldermere House to restore a centuries-old library. Architectural historian James Whitfield is there to document the building. Neither expects what the house has been keeping: sixty-four love letters from the 1940s, written by Nora's own grandmother to the lord of the estate - a love that was never allowed to be.
