Raven is alive, though he's not like he was before. Raven doesn't understand why a man like that would do anything to protect him, and he is afraid to find out that Maxim's apparent kindness is something else entirely.
And yet, time and again, Maxim forgives Raven's lapses in judgment, the things he does only to regret them moments later. Raven can't decide what it means or what anything means anymore. He's adrift, yet wherever he turns, Maxim is there to keep him from drowning. Author's Note: This story continues right after the previous ones in the series, and while it follows different main characters, it is recommended you read the other books first.
Raven is a survivor, and it's not easy for him to come to terms with what happened. The story has strong hurt/comfort themes and is largely focused on Raven finding his way forward.
