The Usalama

Marcus Vance, now known as Muslida 'The Prophet, ' has turned the 1400 block into his own personal kingdom. Radicalized in prison, he preaches that the Black man is God, using his rhetoric to recruit followers and launder illicit funds through a laundromat front. His brother, Duslida, serves as the pragmatic and lethal enforcer, keeping the operation running while hiding the growing corruption behind their supposed sanctuary.
But the foundation of the Usalama movement is rotting from within. As Muslida drifts into a dangerous, messianic psychosis, his lieutenant, Kareem, orchestrates a cold-blooded betrayal to steal the organization's assets. Caught between the relentless pressure of a federal RICO investigation and the violent greed of rival gangs, the brothers find their 'sovereign' empire turning into a death trap. When the Department of Justice raids the Compound, the cost of Muslida's ambitions becomes clear.
With Kalu, a young disciple, dead in the crossfire and their world burning down, Duslida is left to navigate the wreckage of a brotherhood fractured by violence and deceit. The Usalama is a gritty, fatalistic exploration of power, cult-like manipulation, and the tragic collapse of an urban empire.
