This is Book 2 in the trilogy, "Ismaril's Journey." Taëlia is mobilizing, and the Black King, Azezakel, is preparing a devastating war. He is one of many gods walking amongst men, and abominable creatures are serving him. In these tumultuous times, Ismaril and Sigyn seek to find a solution to a disaster that seems inevitable. Ismaril, possessing a magic sword, tries to find his place in the conflicts, desperately searching for himself and for repentance from unforgettable crimes he committed that have haunted him ever since. After finding the Book of Secrets, giving him vague guidelines on his journey, Ismaril and Sigyn are preparing to take the next step to get closer to a solution, while the Kingdom of Khandur is at war.
To seek answers, the journey takes Ismaril and Sigyn to the Underworld.
