Résumé

Imaginary friends. They're harmless, right? Until your daughter's invisible companion shares the same name as the twin sister you killed twenty years ago. Abby Clark's life is built on a foundation of guilt and carefully constructed normalcy. As a protective mother and dedicated teacher in Meadowbrook, she hides the dark secret that has haunted her since age seven: she murdered her identical twin.
Her mother went mad with grief and has been institutionalized ever since, leaving Abby to carry the weight of their family's destruction alone. When Abby's daughter begins playing with an imaginary friend who knows impossible details about the past, the walls Abby built around her memories start to crack. Chalk drawings appear in her basement featuring names from her childhood.including Tina, the mysterious girl she was told never existed.
As her ex-husband secretly brings their daughter to visit the grandmother she's never known, and a visually impaired student insists she can see Abby's dead sister, the past and present collide in ways that defy explanation. Abby must navigate the treacherous territory between madness and truth, where every answer leads to a more disturbing question: Is she losing her mind like her mother, or has she been living someone else's lie all along?
