Résumé

Echos of the Veil - The Trilogyby Seraphin WoodwallIt began with a whisper. And a boy who listened. When Alex loses his mother, the world doesn't fall apart-it tilts, quietly. Strange dreams follow. A temple door that wasn't there before. A boy in red, watching him from places he hasn't yet gone. Guided only by his grief and a single phrase she left behind, Alex steps beyond what he knows-and into a world where spirits wait, memories walk beside you, and the past is never quite finished with the living.
From ancient temples in the mountains of Taiwan to forest paths that bend like breath, Echos of the Veil is a journey of quiet magic. Along the way, Alex meets Wei Le-a boy who seems impossibly familiar, and yet stranger than anything he's ever known. Together, they face ghost stories that are true, gods that grieve, and the deepest mystery of all: who they are when no one is watching. This trilogy isn't about heroes.
It's about listeners. The ones who stop and hear what the wind is trying to say. In Book One, grief opens a door. In Book Two, memory leads them through it. In Book Three, love lights the way home.  For readers who believe: that magic doesn't always look like a wand, that courage is sometimes quiet, and that the ones we've lost are never far.
Seraphin Woodwall is a storyteller of shadows and soul. Born and raised in New Orleans, she grew up surrounded by old books, ghost stories, and the lingering scent of jasmine after the rain. Her writing weaves together the mystical and the emotional-drawing from her own search for meaning, identity, and healing. Before turning to fiction, Seraphin worked as a language teacher, cultural researcher, and grief support facilitator.
Her background in cross-cultural storytelling, ritual traditions, and spiritual psychology shapes the worlds she creates-where memory is magic, the veil is thin, and love often comes softly but transforms everything. Echos of the Veil is her debut fantasy series. It reflects her belief that the most powerful journeys happen within-and that sometimes, to find the truth, you must step into the unseen.
Seraphin lives in Portland with too many notebooks, a cat named Lumen, and a growing collection of tea she rarely finishes.
