The far future. Countries no longer exist.  Neithe does freedomBurdened by the needs and demands of an over-populatedworld, President-For-Life Gabrielle LaRue orders GovStar Naval Command to initiate war preparations againsta planet called Liberty, which was terraformed and colonizedcenturies earlier by freedom-lovers, who saw the writing-on-the-walland fled Earth, as the Gov was rising-to-power. Captain Sean Hardy, outwardly a loyal officer, but inwardly, a rebel who hates the Gov andyearns to see it overthrown, is awardeda newly-commissioned, state-of-the-art starshipcalled Red Star One, which was created forone sole purpose:  to flag-ship the fleeton the day of Liberty's invasion. During their shakedown cruise, Sean, andhis loyal bridge-crew, set Red Star Oneon-course for Liberty:  not to invade her, but to defend her from the impendinginvasion.
