Captain Sean Hardy, outwardly a loyal officer, but inwardly, a rebel who hates the Gov andyearns to see it overthrown, is awardeda newly-commissioned, state-of-the-art starshipcalled Red Star One, which was created forone sole purpose: to flag-ship the fleeton the day of Liberty's invasion. During their shakedown cruise, Sean, andhis loyal bridge-crew, set Red Star Oneon-course for Liberty: not to invade her, but to defend her from the impendinginvasion.
