Chuck Abdella is a history teacher at St. John's High School in Shrewsbury, MA. He describes himself as: "A history teacher, indie writer, world-saver, superhero (if you believe the rumors), and youth softball coach. Not necessarily in that order." His newest book, (set in not-so-dark academia) "Casual Monsters", reminds us that, "the fangs don't make the monster." Chuck's four-book high fantasy series, "The Outcasts: The Lies of Autumn", "The Darkest Forests", "Whispers of Spring", and "A Flicker of Hope", has been enjoyed by readers on six continents.

"The Sun and the Moon" and its sequel, "Shadows and Stars" speak to anyone who has ever wondered if their teachers are from another world. Chuck has written for nearly 40 years and his writing has appeared in the St. John's "Icon", the Boston College "Stylus", "Worcester Magazine", and "The Boston Globe". He has served as a fantasy fiction mentor at the Worcester County Writers Conference.
