Two children, Max and Lily, are enjoying a day by the lake when they meet a talking silver fish named Bubbles. Bubbles has lost his shiny, rainbow-colored shell and asks for their help to find it. Max and Lily join him on a quest across the lake, searching near an old willow tree, along the sandy shore, and in the tall grass. After some false leads, they follow some ducks to a quiet cove where Lily spots the shell half-buried in the sand.
They return it to Bubbles, who is overjoyed. The friends celebrate their successful teamwork before saying goodbye as the sun sets, leaving them all happy and grateful for their adventure together.
