Résumé

James 5:14-15 KJV Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Extreme Unction or The Anointing Of The Sick is a Sacrament done to heal and deliver and disarm the sick by directly anointing them with Anointing Oil accompanied by a prayer of faith.
This task cannot be performed by any or be done anyhow. It should be done by set elders who the church is sure of their counsel and repute. The ideal being in the event of the sick being healed and delivered of their predicament; it brings the temptation of sorting a prize or a crown for the privilege of the worked miracle. Yet the work and function of God in the New Testament does not call for that.
So, Extreme Unction should be done as a sort way by the understanding of the church as a whole. Not on personal retrospect of any among the members of the church. This is to say it clearly from the first go that not just any member of the church should be wielding out a bottle of Anointing Oil anyhow and call it Extreme Unction. That is why even in the times of Jesus Christ, until the twelve have been named the apostles you do not hear of them carrying the Anointing Oil.
Until they are sent out on a specific mission to heal the sick and set free the captive; that is when they are given the Anointing Oil to use. And when the mission is given to the seventy you do not hear of the Anointing Oil. Though one would ask, in our times how many oils would have already touched that person's temple?
