Florence, 1506-where devotion, beauty, and danger walk hand in hand. Lucia degli Albizzi, born into an ancient aristocratic family, leads a life ruled by duty. When he challenges Pietro's honour, the young painter answers the only way a Florentine man can: with a sword. The duel ends with Pietro victorious, Ruggiero wounded and silenced. With the danger passed and Pietro now a respected artist in the city, Lucia is free at last.
