Résumé
Thirteen-year-old George is cynical about the existence of ghosts. Then he goes to spend half-term with his Gran and begins to revise his views. Can he believe the fantastic tales she tells him about Beckington Castle? Or was it only her imagination or a bad dream? A question he might well ask too, when he finds himself in Jacobean England, rubbing shoulders with King James I's favourite, George Villiers, and his family.
