Résumé

Old spirits. New hungers. No debt stays buried. Yun Ha-rin made a career out of appetite. Every night, thousands watch her eat. Perfect lighting. Sponsor meals. A smile held just long enough for the clip. To her fans, Ha-rin is comfort, spectacle, and proof that hunger can be turned into a brand. To Ha-rin, mukbang is work: aching teeth, swollen hands, hidden nausea, bills, and a private bowl of rice she keeps off-camera.
Then one stream refuses to end. After the LIVE dot goes gray, another Ha-rin remains on a side monitor, still seated at the table, still chewing from an empty bowl. The real Ha-rin feels each swallow in her own throat. The replay spreads before anyone can explain it. Viewers argue. Sponsors wait. The platform sorts the footage into the wrong category. Her estranged sister, Yun Seo-yeon, knows how online harm hides behind process.
A former cybercrime analyst, she follows what others dismiss: dead accounts posting fresh comments, donations outside the count, clips that worsen each replay, scans that correct themselves, and an old debt of 80K Korean Won returning under different names. The word she finds is Agwi. A hungry ghost. Not a demon waiting for a priest. Not a curse broken by saying the right name. This hunger learns from whatever is placed near the mouth: food, money, shame, pity, proof, and an audience.
As Ha-rin's body begins obeying the feed, the rules change. Paid comments bring relief. Safe food burns. Private meals rot into offerings. Packaging, labels, cue cards, microphones, and camera parts become courses. When the sequence turns toward human meat, Seo-yeon faces the worst question of her life: how do you prove your sister is being consumed when proof feeds the thing consuming her?The agency wants a statement.
The platform wants a category. The audience wants one more clip. The Agwi wants all of them watching. The Mukbang Agwi is Book One of THE UNAPPEASED.
