Résumé
Judge and Jury is the fourth book in the Mountain Men series. A Group of legendary fur trappers known as 'the Death wind', along with Sarah and Jamie, two young settlers they rescued in their travels, have already established a homestead on the Williamette river of the late 1820's. Their friends, Abe and Jaxon, have secured land grants from the president and have gathered a group of new irish immigrants, fresh off the boat, to help further establish the settlement in Oregon.
Once they arrive, there are skirmishes and problems as the Irish immigrants struggle to learn to live as a free people, while unknown dangers lurk within and outside the settlement. Davie Meadows , his wife Sarah and their friend Grizz lean on their experiences and wisdom to try to help the newcomers adapt to life in the wilderness, but some unexpected surprises and a few bad apples threaten to spoil their hard work of building a viable community on the Willamette river.
With no police presence, will Davie and his friends be able to serve up mountain man justice to keep order and peace?
