William John Locke (1863-1930) was a British novelist and playwright, born in Barbados and educated at Cambridge. He served as secretary of the Royal Institute of British Architects before devoting himself to fiction. His novels include At the Gate of Samaria, Where Love Is, The Morals of Marcus Ordeyne, The Belovéd Vagabond, and Simon the Jester.
