The Misfit

Jenny Carruthers is eleven years old and the odd one out. Her brother Brian has curly brown hair and deep blue eyes. Her little sister Janine has yellow curls. Even her mother's greying fair hair falls in curls. But Jenny? Straight black hair. Brown eyes. Always in the middle, never quite belonging. With Dad in hospital since his accident and Mum stretched to breaking point, Jenny feels invisible.
Overlooked. Unloved. So she decides to stop trying to be good and starts making choices that spiral further and further out of control. A forbidden friendship. A reckless act of rebellion.
