In 2003 Nigel Turner, a British filmmaker produced a History Channel documentary aboutthe Kennedy assassination entitled The Guilty Men. The program was basedprimarily on two books -The Men on the Sixth Floor, and Blood, Money and Power. The Guilty Men segment captured American's attention like no previous JFKprogram ever had. DVD sales of the History Channel's presentation soared. Angry phone calls to the LBJ library by some viewers of the Guilty Men expressedoutrage, and some even threatened to tear the library down.
Lady Bird Johnsonjoined several LBJ associates in taking on the History Channel.  Jack Valenti, Bill Moyers, Jimmy Carter and Gerald R. Ford all rallied to stop any furthertelevising of the controversial film. All DVD sales of the GM documentary werehalted. Threatening legal action, an agreement was reached NEVER again to airthe program. Existing Guilty Men DVDs became collector's items and many werebootlegged and sold online.
