I got the idea for this story from what a reader wrote me. She said she hooked for about a year until she got enough money to open her lingerie store. Her first was an automobile mechanic and he became her pimp but traded her later. This story is fiction of course but most fiction has some germ of truth in it somewhere."The Mechanic" is a story about a young white couple down on their luck. They were talked into her turning tricks to survive.
