Résumé

Fresh from the roaring seas and the clash with the mighty Spanish Armada, Tom once again feels the strange pull of the Magic Yellow Stone. In an instant, the smell of salt and gunpowder fades-replaced by the dust of a foreign plain and the shimmer of bronze under the blazing sun. Before him stands an army unlike any he has ever seen: disciplined ranks of warriors bearing long sarissas, clad in cloaks and crested caps.
The sight strikes him like lightning-he is in the age of Alexander the Great. Drawn into the ranks of the Macedonian host on the eve of the Battle of Granicus, Tom earns the trust of the young conqueror himself and takes command of a 2, 000-strong cavalry unit. Through the thunder of hooves and the clash of empires, he rides with Alexander from Granicus to the Cilician Gates, from the victory at Issus to the grueling siege of Tyre.
But each triumph comes with a question: is Tom changing history, or simply fulfilling it?
