Résumé

THE LOOKING GLASS is an ambitious work that defies genres and provokes urgent reflections on the Anthropocene. Although its execution is uneven, it achieves something valuable: transforming ancient myths into mirrors that force us to confront our own dilemmas (wars, global warming, artificial intelligence). Its greatest achievement does not lie in the answers it provides, but in the questions it raises: Are we capable of breaking the cycle of self-destruction?What will remain of us when the Earth erases our traces? In a world on the brink of climate crises and pandemics, this novel is a haunting beacon in the sea of speculative literature.  A narrative blending elements from religious texts like Genesis and the Book of Enoch with scientific concepts and speculative fiction.
It talks about a future where an elite group escapes Earth's climate disaster to the Moon, creates humanoid beings to restore Earth's atmosphere using gold, and involves events like a comet impact causing the Younger Dryas period. In "The Looking Glass, " authors weaves an epic allegorical tale that grapples with humanity's search for meaning and our eternal quest for self-understanding. When a climate catastrophe forces the elite to establish a lunar colony called Eden, the humanoid couple Adam and Eve are tasked with restoring life on Earth.
But their limitations become apparent as their pursuit of knowledge leads to unforeseen consequences. Drawing on sources ranging from the Bible to the Epic of Gilgamesh, authors construct an imaginative narrative rich in metaphor and social commentary. Probing philosophical questions arise as the boundaries between legends and reality blur. What does the story of Adam and Eve represent? Can we overcome the confines of our own perspective? Is humanity headed toward an inevitable reckoning? Transport yourself to a visionary world that reveals hidden truths about our past, present and future.
A mesmerizing sci-fi fable for thinkers and dreamers alike
