Résumé
My only claim to fame was proudly representing the nation of my birth, England, at senior-level volleyball at the young age of 16/17. Before that I was just a kid growing up in a poor environment learning to deal with the circumstances caused by our sometimes desperate family situation. I decided to leave England when I was 19, too many skeletons in my cupboard. I hitch-hiked to Spain with a pittance in my pocket where I spent three years 'beach-bumming' and working in the best disco in Benidorm called, El Corral (the wild seventies).
From there I travelled to West Berlin, got married and resided in the West-Zone working as a trucker. My many confrontations with East German police were, to be honest quite frightening, with the fear of being locked up in an East German prison always dangling between my ears. A divorce, meeting the 'real' love of my life, a Dutch young lady called Liesbeth, self-employment and trucking the length and breadth of West Europe.
For ten years I owned a transport/logistic business which eventually went bankrupt. However, an entrepreneur will always be an entrepreneur, and rising from the ashes of bankruptcy, together with my wife, we owned a successful textile-printing business for thirteen years. From 1957 up to today, 2025, one passion has always accompanied me, my life-long 'love affair' with Manchester United FC, and that passion will continue, ups and downs, come what may, until I take it to my grave.(At the time of completing my autobiography Mr.
Erik Ten Hag was still the manager of United, he has now been replaced)
