The Kingdom of Mischiefdust

In the Kingdom of Thistledown, perfection is absolute: teacups never chip, rain falls only at night "politely, " and even objects that almost fall politely reconsider. This flawless order exists because long ago the kingdom locked away Mischiefdust - a playful, unpredictable, living magic - inside crystal jars in the castle's deepest tower, sealed behind boring spells and one golden rule: never talk about it.
Lumi, a freckled, mismatched-boots fairy with an unstoppable curiosity, begins to question why nothing ever changes. Her friend Pip, an inventor duende, tells her old stories of magic that "laughed, hiccupped, and danced." When Lumi dares to whisper the name Mischiefdust aloud, the sealed magic stirs. Unable to resist, Lumi sneaks into the castle's forbidden tower and touches a jar - which cracks.
A single giggling sparkle escapes, immediately splitting and multiplying (1 ? 2 ? 4 ? 8), sending ripples of chaos through the kingdom: the king sneezes, chickens lay square eggs, spoons dance, apples turn purple, and clocks chime the wrong hour.
