Book 2 in The Robin Hood Story "He was a hero, though he never knew it" As a servant in the Locksley manor, Much has always done what he is told, knowing his opinion doesn't matter. He desires to be valued as a brother to the Earl's son Robin, but the Earl has always made it abundantly clear that Much is nothing beyond a useful servant. When Robin sets off to fight in King Richard's Crusade, Much dutifully follows after him-ignoring his own discomfort and desire to stay clear of the war in favor of pleasing Robin.
