How far would you go in the pursuit of happiness? How important are the differences between people separated by conflicting traditions, religions and race? And what is more important your country, family, or physical and mental health? These are just a few of the questions that Ivy must answer as she finds herself caught in the middle of an impossible situation. For her there are no easy answers. Plagued by the images in her mind that are in a constant video loop, all she can see is the death and destruction she has witnessed.
If there is any chance for her to survive she has to give up everything she has ever known and leave her family with the knowledge that she would probably never see them again. But, even with such a great sacrifice, there is no assurance that she will ever find happiness. Deadly consequences are possible with every decision she makes. On the other side of the world, Lena is a recently divorced teacher who is ready to have fun.
She struggles with the image of seeing her ex-husband with his new girlfriend who is young enough to be one of her college-aged daughters. With summer vacation on the horizon, Lena has decided to go on a Mediterranean cruise. She would be happy to have a fling with a handsome young Italian or a sexy Frenchman along the way. But, what she finds is not even close to what she expected. Her journey will test her endurance and strength of character in a way no one could have predicted.
