The Heart Of Cooking: Treasured Recipes is a collection of many of my personal recipes. You will find many sugar-free, guilt free dessertr ecipes included, with breakfast dishes, as well as recipes for main courses, one-pot crock-pot dinners, comfort foods, grilled recipes and a recipes or my home-made BBQ Sauce. When I realized several years ago that my husband was a borderline diabetic, I quickly started paying attention to everything that I made.
It wasn't my cooking habits that aided him onto this path, but stemmed mostly from the sugary soda's that he so loved to drink. Needless to say, anything that required sugar in any recipe, quickly was replaced by using Splenda. I taught myself how to omit sugars, syrups. and I quit buying any products where sugars was added in. I myself rarely eat, or drink anything that has sugar added into it, and I'm not a diabetic. I always try to practice good eating habits. And I will say that I cant tell much of a difference in taste, by substituting using Splenda.(There are several brands on the market that also are just as good as Splenda, with a cheaper price.)My new cookbook isn't just about Sugar-Free, There are a few candy recipes that I make that cant be completely made Sugar-Free.
Boo.How-ever the majority of my recipes are much healthier than many others I have seen, and a lot healthier than store bought pre-made, pre-packaged.You will find my well-loved recipe for my home-made Chicken And Dumplings, as well as many other chicken recipes, along with my Boston Butt recipes within the following pages. Yum-Yum-Yummy!
