Eugene Taylor, a brilliant and unsuspecting scientist, is thrust into an unimaginable reality when he is abducted by a mysterious alien race. For years, these extraterrestrial beings have been observing him, seeing in him the potential to be the beginning of a new era. Their plan? To wipe out humanity and start anew using Eugene and a uniquely engineered human-alien female hybrid. However, Earth's own secret experiments unknowingly complicate the aliens' grand design.
Human scientists have been creating animal-human hybrids, pushing the boundaries of genetic science in ways no one could have predicted. Now, as Earth is repopulated with these new beings, tensions rise and alliances are tested.
