Résumé

The Gravedigger's Tale is a collation of nine short stories all with horror themes - several have been adapted from old posts of mine on the realistic-style subreddit, /r/NoSleep; several have been adapted from old TweetFics of mine; a few others are just scattered horror stories from my archives. Letters from the Dead: 17k, rated M, first person POV. A few years removed - and thus safe - from his old posting, a gravedigger finally tells the tale of his haunting.
Written in the style of a diarised blog post, originally posted on /r/NoSleep. CW for homophobia, grief, potential mental illness. I Forgot My Manners: 2.7k, rated M, first person POV. A young woman forgets her manners when encountering strangers on the path, and lives in dread of the consequences. Written in the style of a diarised blog post, originally posted on /r/NoSleep. Set near to Llallwg National Park.
Wild Country: 3k, rated T, first person POV. A young woman walks home alone on a foggy night, and soon regrets it. Written in the style of a blog post, originally posted on /r/NoSleep. The Door: 600w. They forgot about the door, somehow. Adapted from a TweetFic. The Coffin at Sea: 400w. A vessel picks up a coffin afloat at sea. Adapted from a TweetFic. The Ring: Rated T, 5k, M/M. A young man misses his departed boyfriend.
Tragedy and horror and ghosts in this one - note CWs for different kinds of domestic violence implied throughout, infidelity, death and references to suicide and self-harm. Adapted from a TweetFicGreen Thumb: 2.6k, rated M. A chicken farmer tries to impress his new neighbour by growing him some flowers, but everything that he grows dies. Adapted from a TweetFic. The Lighthouse: 700w. A ghost story.
The Shepherd: 1.3k. Abstract Horror. Red sky at night, shepherd's delight. All stories included bar The Shepherd are set in my Magic Beholden universe, but are readable individually as standalone stories.
