Résumé
Music industry peers, members of his own band, and his Brooklyn neighbors all gasped when they heard that Gregory Mitchell, the Grammy Award winning jazz artist, left his impressive career to raise his little girl as a single parent. Gregory had no regrets. He loved his little Gracie and she loved him with all her heart. They were inseparable. Sometimes parents hide things from their children to keep them from worrying, that's what Gregory did for Grace.
He devised a plan to prevent his inquisitive daughter from finding out about his secret venture, but somehow, the plan backfired. Gregory's scheme caused Grace so much hardship and confusion that she didn't know what to do. Just when Grace thought things couldn't get worse, Brandon, the pastor's son, got into trouble with the law for helping her. It was all too much for her to endure. Leaving her family and friends behind, Grace starts a new life path for herself, with a new home and a new job.
The pain of her past was a long-forgotten blip of memory that she never had to deal with again, at least that's what she thought.
