Apuleius (died c. 170 CE) was a Numidian philosopher and rhetorician who wrote in Latin. He studied in Carthage and Athens, and later lectured in Rome and Carthage. He is known for The Golden Asse, a comic novel and the only Latin novel to survive in its entirety.
