The Eurasian

How do you escape from a place that "doesn't exist"? In the late 21st century, nothing is what it seems. Classmates in a virtual classroom had never seen beyond one another's online avatars. None of Mickey's Asian classmates knew he was a Eurasian - part Thai, part Irish - but as it turned out, they all had something to hide. They finally reveal their true selves and they're off on their class trip.
Their class has been chosen to tour America as ambassadors representing the Chinese half of the globe.  The multinational corporations of the 21st century appear to have turned North America into a high-tech paradise. There, everyone wears light VR head gear that makes everyone and everything look like what they want to look like. It's like they're in Oz, the Emerald City, viewing the Emperor in his New Clothes - until they land with a bump in the middle of the great American outback.  There, the West is again Wild.
They find a vast patchwork of independent republics, some Nazi, some Native American, Mafia kingdoms, militant Christian states, redneck cowboy states and more. Once there, there's no getting back, as the Multinationals don't want their carefully guarded secret to get out.  The Nazis were the ones who got them in, whereupon they hijacked their ride and their VR head gear so as to assume their identities.
Leaving them in the Arizona desert, the Nazis go off to infiltrate the Multinational Corporate Zone. Friendlier than the Nazis are the Navajo of the nation of Dinetah. Then, they meet a trio of operatives of the Jewish Defence Association, who are on to the Nazi plot. They have their help.  The tasks of getting home and opposing the Nazi threat, seem to lie in the same direction. For that, they have to travel, crossing many national boundaries, encountering some of the strangest situations and interesting people, and they hack.
They revert to methods that are available only because of the lack of any regulations, and make do with a lot less than they ever thought they could live with. It's dystopian in some places, post-apocalyptic in others, primitive with just a bit of high-tech thrown in.  If you like a Wild West, Post Apocalyptic narrative, featuring a mix of Asian, Hispanic, Navajo, Jewish and Irish characters, this is the book for you.
